我
“我” means “I” and identifies the person speaking in each dialogue line. It appears at the beginning of patterns such as “我需要……” and “我喜欢……”. Use it when expressing your own needs, choices, or preferences.
需要
“需要” means “need” in “我需要一些帮助” and “我需要一些水”. It comes after the speaker and before the thing that is needed, as in “我需要……”. Use this form when asking for something necessary in a practical situation.
一些
“一些” means “some” and shows an unspecified amount in “我需要一些帮助” and “我需要一些水”. It comes before the thing being requested. Use it when you need an amount but do not specify exactly how much.
帮助
“帮助” means “help” in “我需要一些帮助”. Here it is the thing the speaker needs after “需要一些”. Use it to ask for assistance when you cannot manage something alone.
水
“水” means “water” in “我需要一些水”. It follows “一些” to name the unspecified amount that is needed. Use this word when requesting water in an everyday situation.
要
“要” means “want” in “我要这个” and “我要那个”. It follows “我” and comes before the selected item, forming “我要……”. Use it when choosing or requesting something.
这个
“这个” means “this one” in “我要这个”, “我喜欢这个”, and “我不喜欢这个”. It identifies the item understood as near or currently indicated. Use it after verbs such as “要” or “喜欢” when referring to a particular item.
那个
“那个” means “that one” in “我要那个”. It identifies the selected item as the one referred to as “that”. Use it after “要” when choosing that particular item.
喜欢
“喜欢” means “like” in “我喜欢这个” and “我不喜欢这个”. It comes after “我” and before the item whose appeal is being described, as in “我喜欢……”. Use it to state a preference about a particular item.
不
“不” makes the following preference negative in “我不喜欢这个”, meaning that the speaker does not like this one. It appears before “喜欢” in this dialogue. Use the pattern “我不喜欢……” to reject or express a negative preference about something.
